Two Options for Paver Cleaning

Option 1: Soft Wash Cleaning (Soap & the City)

We can soft wash pavers using low pressure and cleaning solutions. This removes organic growth (algae, moss, mold) without disturbing the joint sand between pavers.

Soft wash cleaning is a good maintenance option if your pavers are in decent shape and you just need to remove surface growth. It won't restore faded color, refill missing sand, or seal the surface.

Option 2: Full Restoration (Paver Savers)

For complete paver restoration including cleaning, joint sand replacement, and sealing, visit our sister company Paver Savers.

Paver Savers specializes in bringing old, faded pavers back to life. They can restore pavers that look like they need to be replaced to look nearly new again. The full restoration process includes:

  • Deep cleaning to remove all organic growth and staining
  • Joint sand replacement (polymeric sand)
  • Professional sealing for color enhancement and protection
  • Minor repairs and leveling

Why High Pressure Doesn't Work on Pavers

The Problem

High-pressure washing dislodges the sand between pavers. That sand is what holds everything together and prevents shifting, settling, and weed growth. Remove it, and you create bigger problems than you started with.

The Solution

Soft washing uses cleaning solutions and low pressure to remove organic growth without disturbing joint sand. For pavers that need complete restoration, Paver Savers removes and replaces the sand as part of the process.

Paver Restoration FAQs

Paver cleaning is soft washing to remove algae, moss, and stains without disturbing the joint sand. Restoration goes further: deep cleaning, new joint sand, sealing, and resetting any pavers that have shifted or sunk. Cleaning is maintenance. Restoration brings faded pavers back to near-new.

High-pressure washing blasts out the sand between joints. That sand is what keeps pavers from shifting, settling, and growing weeds. We use soft washing for basic cleaning. Paver Savers has equipment designed to remove and replace the sand during full restoration.

Sealer lasts 2-6 years depending on sun, traffic, and weather. When the color starts fading, water stops beading, or weeds show up between joints, it's time to reseal. Paver Savers can take a look and tell you where you stand.

Sometimes the joint sand washes out or breaks down from water erosion or ant activity. Sometimes seeds blow in from the yard or get dropped during landscaping. Either way, if there's room to grow, weeds find it. Soft washing kills what's there, but replacing the sand and sealing prevents them from coming back.

Faded, stained, uneven, or sinking pavers can almost always be restored. We can reset pavers that have shifted and bring the whole surface back to level. Only cracked or broken pavers need replacing, and Paver Savers can usually find matching ones for small repairs.

Day one is cleaning. Day two is sand and sealer—or just sand if you're not sealing. We use a joint sand and stabilizing sealer combo, so there's no waiting for sand to cure. Small jobs sometimes get done same-day. Foot traffic is fine within 24 hours; cars should wait 48-72 hours.
